Aluminium cartridges

Aluminium cartridges

The opaque, diffusion-tight aluminium cartridge optimally protects your product from external influences. With 99.7% aluminium, seamlessly manufactured using the cold extrusion process, the aluminium cartridge is one of the most sustainable packaging materials. The cartridges protect the material with a membrane which prevents the contents from leaking out.

Good reasons for a Aluminium cartridge

Good reasons for a Aluminium cartridge

Aluminium is a durable material that can be recycled endlessly while maintaining quality

they protect against light and air and offer full temperature stability

75% of the aluminium produced to date is still in use

they prevent contamination from air, are ideal for sterilization

As part of our energy management and life cycle assessments (LCA), we also deal with PCR and PIR aluminium. Aluminium can be recycled any number of times. Compared to other materials, aluminium does not lose quality and retains its excellent product properties. This product cycle thus enables a functioning recycling economy. Thanks to this recycling  economy, products made from recycled aluminium have a significantly lower carbon footprint than products made from pure aluminium.

The base material for our cartridges are aluminium slugs. Slugs are aluminium disks that can be thick or thin / large or small depending on the cartridge. The specially pre-treated slugs are shaped in an impact extrusion process using a die and an extrusion punch. After the extrusion process, the cartridges are cut to the desired length. The thread on the cartridge neck is rolled in the same way. Depending on the specification, the cartridges can also be finished with internal varnish or a latex ring. The cartridges can be provided with a base coat (external varnish) over the entire surface, after which they pass through an oven to dry.

We offer our cartridges in different lengths between 125mm and 221mm. You can also choose from a variety of threads, flanges and shoulder designs.

Upond request, we can also provide ou with aluminium plungers and end lids. Other purchased parts are also available on request. See "Plungers & End lids" for more information.

Our competent contact persons will also be happy to advise you by telephone.

Our cartridges are available both unprinted and printed in various designs

Printing

We're using dry offset, an indirect letterpress process for the printing of our cartridges. After the blank cartridge has been created it is given the desired base coat. The printing ink is applied on top of this varnish after a short intermediate drying period. The printing inks are successively transferred wet-on-wet (without intermediate drying) onto a rubber blanket. The cartridge then rolls off this rubber blanket. During this process, the printing colors are transferred to the cartridge all at once. Photopolymer printing plates are used as printing plates. Our cartridges can be printed with up to 7 colors. The printing is done in solid colors (according to Pantone, HKS or colorimetrically evaluable color template). Images can also be printed on our cartridges. We offer a wide variety of design options. Further information can be found in our data sheets.
